It took them a whole month after they hired me in to actually get me started, and ever since I have been there I have not been given more than five hours a week the whole time I have worked there. (They actually docked me down to three hours a week starting last month after the first of the year.) The job itself is also horrible, and the stress they are causing me is not even worth it. (I have actually lost sleep over the whole thing.) There are days when I come home in tears over it. I have asked about getting more hours, and the response I got from the manager is that I'm not competent enough to be able to handle more hours, when I know that's not true. I worked for a fast food restaurant for six years throughout high school and college, and never once did I have any problems not being "competent" enough for them. It's just that I was never trained for what I'm doing right now. I was basically thrown in there and they said "Here. Do it.", leaving me to figure everything out for myself. So my question is does anybody here know if I have to keep this job in order to be able to keep drawing my unemployment? It's getting ridiculous because I'm only working not even one full day a week and it's starting to cost me more to come to work than I'm making at work! By the time I drive there and drive back, I've spent almost everything I've made working on gas. I picked up my most recent paycheck along with my W2s today, and my W2s are a joke! Federal didn't take anything out because there wasn't enough there for them to take anything out, and the state collected a whole whopping $3.39 from me for last year. For the record, I live and work in Michigan. Help, please!!!! I am hoping somebody can help me with this!
