88 miles to 119 mile round trip daily. R.I. employment law requires me to travel 70 miles round
trip to seek employment. My position is base salary plus commission with the present economic
situation the sales are not there to justify this travel. It’s also causing a lot of wear and tare on
my vehicles which I won’t be able to replace because of my employment situation. I’ve tried to
make this work for the last 3 1/2 years its become more of a burden then a position. If I leave this position of my own accord or I’m terminated can I collect?

I worked for the dept of corrections. I have a good friend thats incarcerated. we wrote each other all the time, like pen pals. My friend needed some support, thats all. I was terminated because I didnt get permission from my job to write my friend. My father, mother and alot of family members were incarcerated before. I have gotten letters from them and have written back. I didnt think writing someone was so bad. I wouldnt dare visit. I applied for unemployment and was denied. I appealed the decision. Waiting for a hearing date in the mail. Do I have a chance at winning? I just need a way to support my two children until I find another job.

See they moved me to third from first and I’m a single parent of two, I had to call in the first two days because I couldn’t find a baby sitter . when i went back they said I had 11 points and was issued a 3 day suspension which was my second of the year. To point out you have to have 13 points so can they fire me for getting another 3 day suspension.

I was fired from a job that I had for 18 months. They fired me for being on the computer and for medication errors. Others have had much more serious medication errors that could have potentialy cost a life, mine were mistakes in the BM department. Other co-workers were also on the computer at their schedualed work times. I get fired but they don’t? I will apeal my claim. This is the first time I have ever filed for unemployment in my twenty years of work.

I was fired from missing my training day. I came in on last day of orientation when I was given days of training (which was a shift that I was not offered). I was offered third shift and took it thinking my training would be on third. My car broke down on me so I made other arrangements to get back and forth to work on third and told my training coordinator my situation and said I had reliabe transportation for the shift that was offered to me in the beginning. She said she would get back to me. The house lead person got back to me on the second day my training started and asked if I could come in on second, I stated that I could only work the shift offered to me in the beginning. She said she would get back with me, but instead her supervisor did and her supervisor’s supervisor had me on speaker phone and i stated my situation to them both and they fired me anyways. Now I cannot get unemployment because they are saying I abandon my job.

Here it is close to christmas and my job of two years FIRES me out the blue. how cold-hearted is that. got me a two week severance pay though. Screw you and have a nice Holiday.They said I haven’t been following office protocol? What?! my company is going to independent contractors which means we will be responsible for paying our own fed taxes,social security and all other taxes plus will no longer be paying milage and we are responsible for liability ins also they will be giving no raises to compensate for this and we are required to sign a new contract with them also in order to keep the job i have now i need to be cna recertified and the classes range from $500-$800 and we must pay there are no grants available for help and we have less than 30 days to do this if we dont sign the contract will we be eligible to draw unemployment

Hello to all in the world of NO JOB .
I was FIRED for no reason and I know my job will fight my Claims, There was plenty of witnesses but everyone needs there job just as well as the next person, that when asked about the problem everyone was quite you could hear a pin drop, all because nobody wants to stand up for another person SEE how cruel the world really is, Everyone for themselfs.
My name is Apacheprincess480 I have moved from ohio to scottsdale az for persoal reasons 3years ago a got a job at a small time family owned rest, I got hired on the spot had great day shift hours and off on all major holidays the owners say they are all about FAMILY and being with them during the HOLIDAYS , So my Question is how in the HELL can they FIRE a person with no FAMILY no other help just a loney single female a survivor , and you go and FIRE me a week befor christmas. I gave them over 3 years of great service and the lady that they did not FIRE been there only 2 half months
The story goes I was treated by another co-worker she put both arms out wide so i may not pass by I try to go around her both sides and hen she chest bumps me and says” DO YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH ME? IF YOU DO WE CAN GO OUTSIDE AND HANDLE THIS OR I CAN WAIT FOR YOU IN THE PARKING LOT” I turn around and see the GManger coming up the alleyway and I say T_____ J_____ is treating me, and H_____ heard and seen it all , but H____ just stood there Like HUH? T___ phones the owners and in the mean time the LADY who treated me writes down on a piece of paper that she is quiting, she walks pass me and says I hope you happy I just quit. The owner comes in at 8;30am she walks in middle and points at me ans says give you tickets to ******** and follow me NOW, we go to the back of the rest/side by the kitchen wlkway mind you the whole rest can HEAR evey word she is saying to me, because she is screaming at the TOP of her LUNGS she wouldn’t even let me tell my side of the story she just listened to the other LADY SIDE and told me to clock out and phone back at 3pm and they would let me know whats going on , I phone at 3pm and the Owner says we covered your shift Phone me at 10am Friday and I will tell you our decession I phoned and they didn’t give me a clear reason for letting me go I beged for my job and told then I $51 dollars to name until I get another job, I have no Family Or friends to help don’t fire give me a chance to resolve the issue at hand.

I was selling cars for two years with 2 good companies but sales were down and I got on with a staffing company. the staffing company set me up with a job and as soon as my job was guaranteed at the new company i informed my sales manager and then started my new job…
after a week of being at the new job, my mother received a call that my grandfathers heart stopped several times and he was in a coma on life support.
the Doctors said to have the family get togather and say goodbye because he would not make it. so i flew out after being at my new job for a week.. my employer said it was ok and to call friday and let them know if when I would be back, but before i landed in the plane, I had a messege saying i was fired.
would this qualify my claim for benefits ???

i work for a business for 3 yrs all together. I1 night i had family problems and had to go home to take care of my 4 children. my supervisor told me to go take care of my children that the girl at the front desk could handle it so i did just that went and took care of my kids the next morning i got a message that i was being fired for 2 many personal problems. i know they will fight it. is it possible to win this i even kept the message that she left to prove the reason the gave me?

I just quit my job. Was there for 1 1/2 year. Commuting time was 1 hr a day. My car broke down a few times and I spend basically all my money trying to fix it now I can’t even buy another one, public transportation requires 3 hours on the bus and 1 hr walking, that is 4 hrs daily just commuting to work on a good day (weather don’t really help here in Upstate NY) meaning I would have to leave the house even before my kids head to school and returning home close to 9pm. I just couldn’t do it. My question is… Will I be able to collect unemployment? I am looking for work now closer to home to avoid this happening again.

I was fired after working for an insurance company for 4 months. I moved to be clsoer to the job. I am now without a job, no friends or family close. I was told it was determined that I had excessive absenteeism. All my absenses were excused, most due to falls on the ice. This company had hired a nurse who had previously worked in my position. There was a hiring freeze on so I was confused when she was hired. I was told by 2 people, 1 of them is our training educator and knows everything about the business. She told me 2 weeks ago to look for another job because the bosses liked this other person and would be letting me go. I only have her word against mine. What is the chance of getting unemployment, if I have any left?

I worked for a company who worked with mentally retarded individuals. I was accused of not doing my job on several occasions by my supervisor and the HR woman. I was suppose to wake them up to use the bathroom at night, and did. Even though I did this, 1 or 2 of them would be wet when they were woken up in the am. I was accused repeatedly of not doing this, and was written up then fired without any proof other than a co worker’s opinion on the amount of urine present. I say that because the supervisors main point is that they think i could not have woken them up at all for how wet they are.
Would this disqualify me? I feel they are going to deny me just because they will say i wasn’t doing my job even though i was. Why would anyone side with the little guy?
