If you have been laid off from your job in Florida, you are probably considering unemployment. Even if you’ve never been in a situation where you’ve found it necessary to try to receive government assistance, this economy has driven many people out of what were once thought to be very solid jobs.
If you don’t know where to begin, you must start with your Florida unemployment application. It is easier than ever now to file for your unemployment, but once you file there may sometimes be a waiting period. There are two ways that you can file for your unemployment in Florida. You can go to an office and fill out and submit your paper work in person, or you can apply online.
Some people feel that you will receive a prompter response to your claim if you go down to an office and apply in person. Regardless of when you submit your application, your benefits will not begin until after you’ve submitted your application and your information has been verified. So it’s best not to procrastinate. You should get your application in as soon as you possibly can.
If you submit your application online, you must first wait for a confirmation number before you close out of the site. Your application is not completely submitted unless you are issued a confirmation number. If your claim is not submitted, you won’t receive benefits. You will also be unable to file a claim if you are using WebTV as your internet connection.
Once you’ve submitted your claim online, it will only take about an hour to complete. If you do not have internet access to complete your claim then you can file at one of the convenient One-Stop Centers all around Florida.
