Six months is the norm but you may be apply for an extension for 9 months of benefits.

Depends what state you are in – I’m in California and its 6 months, but you can get it extended for another 6 months if you can prove you’ve actively been looking for work.

Over here in NJ the normal limit is 26 weeks but there is currently an extension of 13 weeks!

I live in Missouri does anyone know if you are in the Union. Is there Union unemployment if they lay you off? Or is it just threw the state?

When I signed up for unemployment pay due to layoff at plant, I was told it would stop in Feb 2010 (1 year), but was told it could be extended. I live in alabama. Can anyone tell me if this is true and how do I go about extending it………

If I’m approved for unemployment, how much will I get? I was out of work since 06/07 until 08/09. I did receive some unemployment but I’ve heard that President O’Bama has extended it. I live in Montana.

CA is 18 months with extensions I hope. Or else it’s 12 months. Or else its 8 months. It depends on if you qualify for all the extensions. Most people do. If you make a LOT you might not qualify for the extensions.
