One common misconception is that the employer "pays" for your unemployment. This is not exactly true. Employers pay into a tax fund every year that is used to go towards state unemployment regardless of whether their employees file and get paid on claims. Granted, if they have a large number of people filing for claims and getting them, the percentage they have to pay could increase slightly, but they don't "pay" your personal unemployment. I had been in a car accident and ever since then my back hasn't been the same I can't afford medicare cause the of my cut hours since I've been on this job my back pains has gotten worse which has cause me to resign and find another job that I can take it easy on my back and more hours with benefits so I apply for affordable medicare.I tried to hold on to this job until I find an more safer job but I couldn't bear the pain anymore longer and I didn't want my back to get any worse than it has became. I work in a time share company being a Marketing communitty. What i do if to qualify people to tour our resorts with the hope they can buy a time share apartment. My company requieres to have a minimun average per guest sale. But how can I manage the sales if i am not a seller. I send people to tour, I do not sell anything. My two wirtte up have been b/c i do not have a sales. Now they say if I do not have a sale until the end of the year they will fire me. I will be able to collect unemployment if they fire me. I go to the school also and I am getting sick b/c the stress of this situation and it is affecting my school performance (I go to the university) I have been written up two times due to my poor performance in the company. I am being demoted in which means i will take a huge pay cut, can i resign and collect. My actual job performance is not the issue. i am believing this is personal. with my job position as all in the company we are required to drive, they provide company vehichles, i had 3 backing up accidents with the company vehicle only 1 involved another persons car. i was required to take 8hrs. of vacation and take a 250. at my own expense driving course. i passed with an A. That was about three mnths ago. about two weeks ago i was driving and a woman cut me off with no turn signal, i beeped the horn at her and she called the 1 800 number onthe back of the vehichle i am now either being demoted or terminated, they dont even have the info. of driver. this is causing conflict on many levels, my clients and the families i have worked with and huge paycut. i have never had any traffic violation on of off the job. can i even possibly collect?
