When do I find out if I’m approved?

Where I live (PA) you just call every Sunday and you get your payment directly in your bank account on Wednesdays.

PA = doesn't mail checks.

You should get some type of letter within a few days of applying. They'll either let you know your approved and you can start filing, or let you know you were denied and for what reasons.

Where I live (PA) I applied for UC in july... then around the middle of sept i received a letter saying i was approved aug 2 to start filing so i got online and it let me file all the way up till current i just had to keep reloading the page 2 weeks at a time. it is now nov 1 and still havent received a dime. i have damn near lost all respect for the govt for crap like this but nothing you can do but wait and search. i asked them what happens if i find a job in the mean time and they said if it needs paid eventually it will catch up even if i become employed again. so i just keep hunting. bills and interest rates keep going up but just keep looking eventually youll either lose it all or pay it all back with bills anyway.

i have waited 8 weeks now and i have been able to get a hold of ppl but they cant tell me if im approved or not i had a phone interview and told my side and she said she has to get a rebuttal and that she would have an answer at the end of the week my rents due and i owe 600 to bills. but the plus side is that i start my new job on Saturday :) but im scared i wont get approved our store had a new manager come in and he was just there to help portions and costs, well we all knew he was trying to take over cause he had been there for more than 6months i told him i needed 40 hours cause i was moving out he said no prb well he started cutting my hours for no reason he brought another lady in from his store who was an absolute bitch. I was sick and i couldnt make it to work my manager not the one that came in said it was fine and that she called someone in for me so everything was fine the next thing i know he demotes me. he is on the same level as my manager he just kisses the store owners ass. well i was late a month later cause my car broke down i was on 13 hours a week and couldnt get anything looked at didnt have a phone i was 1/2 hours late and got there be4 the store opened and called my manager she approved it and said it was ok then next thing i know i get a call 3 days later before my shift saying that i was fired i was so upset i went in there and talked to him and he told me because i was late he is late all the freakn time and my boss told me it was ok! so i told my judicator all the info just wondering if ill get approved and oh yea he finally did end up taking over the store now my manager is out a job. so do you think that i will get approved?

If i didnt have money saved I would be in big trouble, I feel for people who are waiting and have no savings and kids to feed. I called to see if i was approved due to statement i recieved by mail showing what my weekly amount would be however nothing was mentioned whether or not i was approved and the rep i spoke to asked me to answer a series of questions then told me to file my weekly claim this upcoming sunday. I was fired on 4/9/2010. I filed for unemployment online immediately it will be 3 weeks tomorrow and besides getting the letter letting me know what I'll receive weekly I haven't heard anything. I've been applying for jobs weekly, I have my resume posted on their site and I've been filing my weekly claim. My bills are backing up but luckily my husbands pay check is paying the majority. If I don't get my check soon I'm worried I won't be able to get my bills paid. Not sure what to do.

I lost my job in February, still waiting for unemployment, I have an appointment Thursday
to have a "real person" look at my case, I would suggest anyone who is still waiting go
to the closest unemployment office it's called a full service office, someone can look at
your case right away and tell you what is going on, if you haven;t received a benefit
of eligilbilty letter then your just in limbo. The benefit letter will tell you if your approved
or it will tell you you have to appeal. That letter takes up to a month to get.

If your waiting longer than that you better go to the local office, you cannot
resolve your issue over the phone.

Well checked my online page and where it says issues delaying payment its blank when before it said work performance. My previous claims were refiled and denied and my weekly claim I just filed sunday was denied but my online page doesn't say I was denied. We are going up to the office thursday to see if I don't get a letter. I guess we'll have to make an appeal. Is there a way I can get a copy of what my ex employer is accusing me of so I can defend myself at the appeal?

I worked for the woman 2 years, didn't file un employment when we were off for the winter, I bent over backwards to make myself available when she needed me. I haven't had a single write up since July of 2009 and that was my only verbal or written warning for anything. I had recently switched from opening shift to close and I made a mistake on my 2nd night closing, while I was still training and she fired me 4 days later. She also accused me of starting a rumor because I had heard from a friend the store was closing permanently after the season was over and I asked my manager because I was scared of being unemployed. I did not say a word to other employees just my manager. Do I have a case at all against her?

It is disgraceful that people who are unemployed and have no source of income cannot speak with a representative. I applied for unemployment at the end of March 2010 and have been going back and forward between MD and DC as to who is responsible for paying me. I requested a hearing by telephone with Maryland only to wait on the line for 30 minutes because I was not contacted to be told the line was disfunctional. I called the conference line number and was told of the problem. The conference call was held and was interrupted by another person who had a conference call. My call was ended so that the second caller could have a conference. Nothing was resolved for me and I was told that I would have another call in 3 weeks. I have no other choice but to notify my senator and congressman of the lack of organization of the MD Unemployment Office. It is now June and I am still with funds.

I relocated to Michigan in February for what I thought was a long term career opportunity. Well, the company became financially unstable and laid 27 individuals off within the past 10 days. I applied for unemployment immediately and was told that a decision would be made within 6 weeks. The states of Michigan and Florida need to work together and determine eligibility is what the representative stated. And, if eligible- which state will pay the benefits being I had worked in both states in the past 18 months. I had began the unemployment process back in may 2011 and here it is almost sept 2011 and have not heard the first thing from the unemployment office except that it has been approved and it should post this week. You would think that for the ones who work and do what they are supposed to the gov would try to help them all they are looking at is how much money they can keep in their pockets. I hope i never ever have to file for unemployment again.
